Untitled Series (Re-written)
‘Untitled (Re-written)’ is a body of work borne from a restricted practice. Without access to the studio or new materials during the Covid-19 lockdowns, I found myself dismantling and recyling old projects in order to continue making new pieces. With each deconstruction and re-imagining, my materials were gaining life:
Rips, stains, snags, stretching fabric beyond its limit, stitching and unpicking, stapling, glueing, painting, dyeing, even accidentally stepping on a fabric that’s fallen from the table - Every action, intentional or not, left a trail of marks behind, providing a rich history from which the next form would be inspired.
