This collection of artworks and experimental pieces was created whilst living in Mjölbolsta, Finland over the midsummer months of 2026.

Seeking to reconnect with the sculptural practice I’d become disconnected from, I found myself inspired by the landscape without a clear vision of how to relate my day to day experiments into a cohesive body of work. The project therefore developed in a scattered, unrefined way.

In letting go of ambitious plans, I leant into material exploration, and dismissed the need for continuity.  Flora themes emerged as I took time to absorb the tranquillity of the surrounding forest, and infuse traces of the environment into my studio work, adopting drawing, weaving claywork and fabric to express the textures of the forest

The resulting collection tells a story of dissonance and surrender - providing an authentic glimpse into the exploratory and erratic journey back into creativity through the visual language of the Finnish countryside.
