Cyprus

This body of work is the product of 32 days immersion in the Cypriot countryside. With little to distract in the remote village housing the studio, I engaged in an experimental practice using discarded materials found on-site. By expanding the regenerative method of my practice to involve materials that have lived a life prior to my intervention, I sought to root the work firmly in the context of the College, considering the materials as ‘hand-me-downs’ that I am momentarily ‘restyling’ before they find their next form in the hands of another resident artist.

The collection ruminates on the lives that have passed through the college and Lempa community, with a nod to the historical and gepgraphical context of the village , whilst also conveying my own experience of the landscape.
